A documentary about the tragedie of Futaba’s residents, the region housing the nuclear power plant that crippled Fukushima Daiichi. beginning in 1960s, Futaba had been promised success and prosperity because of the presence of the power plant that give tax breaks. But now the home town people have lost their land. Passing with their agonies and frustrations, the film talks about the real cost of nuclear energy in capitalism.
After one day from earthquake with the magnitude 9.0 on March 11, 2011, Futaba home town people heard the hydrogen explosion at Reactor Number 1 which led to nuclear fallout. so the Japanese government marks the whole town as an 'exclusion zone' which makes 1,400 of the town’s residents run away to an abandoned high school 250 kilometers from the place. All of the community was moved into the 4 story of the school, making them nuclear refugees.
The film describe to us the nuclear disaster changes and consequences over time. also talks about Ichiro Nakai, a farmer who his wife was killed. His home, and his people suffers because of tsunami. trying to live at the evacuation center, he struggles to forget the haunting memories and begin with his son a new life. The two get an pass to enter the exclusion zone to enter in their home. But, they see that their fears have become reality....
